Simple, well appointed elegance. Jessica and Paul, who are obviously smitten with one another, wanted a day that was important in all the right ways. A beautifully breezy ceremony at Huntington Beach with guests gathered around with their feet in the sand, children playing and sailboats sailing in the distance. A quiet dinner with family. An hors d'oeuvre reception at Spaces Gallery (which is where Dan and I got married!) with beautiful art driven details by the talented groom, and LOTS of time for relaxed portrait making!

The first time I met Beth I felt an immediate connection with her. She's so friendly and open that I felt as though we had known each other in a previous life. When I met her family, I immediately understood that the apple hadn't fallen far from the tree. They are a SWEET bunch. Sean may be the strong silent type, but one look at his face when he greets Beth at the head of the aisle is enough to tell you that Beth makes his heart melt.

Their wedding was at Cleveland's Old Courthouse, a venue I have been dying to shoot for a long while. We had such a blast playing with light and movement on the sweeping marble staircases. Beth and Sean's styling was downright precious, a nice balance for such a grand architectural statement. Cute little clothespin bride and groom couples, Hugo the Cat and Rock Candy signature drinks, and a candy bar (that will be featured prominently in their next post), not to mention an utterly gorgeous cake by Bonbon bakery!

And that dress. The back absolutely takes my breath away.
